Hello

Welcome to the Yate Community Bike Hub and our brand new website.

We’re a self-funded community project with a mission to spread the word about all the great benefits of cycling in and around Yate & Chipping Sodbury. Our volunteer mechanics bring donated bikes back to working condition. These are passed back into the community to those that need them at low or no cost. We also provide a range of new and donated cycling accessories at affordable prices, including clothing, locks and lights.

Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or want to know how to get started, why not visit us at the Bike Hub, join our community on social media or email us!

The Bike Hub is located at Yate Shopping Centre, Bristol and we’re open three days a week – open times can be found on our Contact Us page.

Come along to one of our events

We run bike maintenance courses every 3rd Tuesday of the month and family-fun bike rides throughout the year. Most events are free (although donations are always welcome).

Events include:

Donate your unwanted bike

We can only keep the Bike Hub up and running with the help and support of our local community. Since May 2022 we’ve re-homed over 800 bikes that members of the public and organisations have kindly donated.

If you have a bike you no longer ride or need, or a bike your child has outgrown, then please do bring it into the Bike Hub. It doesn’t have to be two-wheeled either – we’ve recently received tricycles and a unicycle!

We also welcome anything else bike related from accessories (helmets, lights, panniers), spare parts (cables, new inner tubes) or even books for our mini-library!

We’ve re-homed over 800 bikes since May 2022

Remember, we’re a not-for profit organisation and all funds raised go into the costs of running the Bike Hub, community events and raising awareness of how much fun cycling is.

Volunteer your time

If you are passionate about cycling, have a talent for repairing tired bikes or would like to volunteer your time either in the Bike Hub or at our events, we’d love to hear from you. Please visit our Contact Us page.
