About Us
Yate Community Bike Hub (YCBH) was established in May 2022 by a small group of volunteers of the Climate Action Yate & Chipping Sodbury (CAYACS) and with the help of Yate Town Council. The pop-up Hub was created with the purpose of supporting people in the area to move around by bike – safely and confidently.
Increased housing in the area has meant more cars on the road and a noticeable difference in the amount of traffic. The Yate Community Bike Hub’s objective is to help and encourage local people to give cycling a go, or to get around by bike more than they do already.
The Hub has grown since 2022 with a bigger team of volunteers, regular events and courses that are part-funded by South Gloucestershire Council. Plus, we’ve helped many individuals and families in the area by rehoming bikes at low or no cost!!
We hope that people see the benefits of cycling as a quicker, cheaper and healthier alternative to driving – even if it’s swapping the usual car journey now and again.
The Yate Community Bike Hub also wants to reduce the environmental impact of bikes being sent to landfill.
