Bike Donations
The volunteer workshop at Yate Community Bike Hub refurbishes unwanted bikes to support local families in need of cheap and green transport. We give away more than a bike every week but we also sell bikes at affordable prices to fund the parts needed in the workshop and to support other Hub activities such as our free maintenance courses and community events.
In our first two years we have saved over 1400 bikes from going to waste. We can also take donations of parts, accessories and clothing in good condition for our bike jumble.
If you have a bike to donate…
Please email us us first before bring your bike to the Hub as this helps our volunteers to manage our limited storage space.
We can typically repurpose a bike if:
- it has been stored indoors
- it is in fair or good condition
Bikes that are harder for us to repurpose and may only occasionally be accepted depending on capacity are:
- vintage bikes
- bikes with down-frame shifters (as opposed to shifters on the handlebars)
